Do I need to get a licence to fly a drone?
As a drone pilot, you must adhere to the training requirements prescribed in the European legislation. You may fly a drone, heavier than 250 grams, only if you have a pilot's licence.
These certified drone training courses teach basic knowledge about safety, aviation regulations, airspace restrictions, flight operation procedures, respect for privacy, etc. Certificates obtained are valid in all European Union member states.
Mandatory drone pilot training
For all government-mandated training for the Open and Specific categories, we have a partnership with the training institute Drone Flight Academy. For a number of years, they have been providing drone pilot training courses very professionally and with great success! Drone Flight Academy is also expressly involved in the development of our other training courses.
Drone pilot training basic light
The Basic Light drone pilot training course is the minimum mandatory training for the EU Drone Licence for the lowest risk category. This training is particularly intended for individuals or novice commercial drone users who want to fly better, smarter and safer drones from the lowest risk categories. The DronePilot Basic Light training course is entirely online. After purchase, you will be sent a unique voucher code by e-mail which gives access to the online learning platform.

Drone pilot training basic
The DronePilot training Basic is the minimum mandatory training for the EU drone licence for the higher risk category. This training is particularly intended for experienced private and commercial drone users who want to fly drones from the higher risk categories better, smarter and safer. The DronePilot Basic training course is entirely online. After purchase, you will be emailed a unique voucher code that gives access to the online learning platform.

Drone pilot training basic plus
Drone pilot training Basic Plus is the classroom training for individuals and novice commercial drone users who want to fly better, smarter and safer. Companies and organisations who want to deploy drones according to the rules, but also for photographers and cameramen who want to shoot images from a new dimension. After completing the DronePilot Basic Plus classroom training course, you will hold your European Drone Licence to fly subcategory A1/A2/A3 and have basic flying skills.

Drone pilot Advanced Light
The DronePilot Advanced training course is aimed at private and commercial drone users who need to perform flights that fall into the higher risk categories. By completing the DronePilot Advanced Light training course, you obtain the certificate that allows you to perform flights in the Specific category. The training is mandatory to fly under a Standard Scenario (STS-01) and/or a Pre-Defined Risk Assessment (PDRA-S01)
